  • What is Solpa-Extra Soluble Tablets?

    Solpa-Extra Soluble Tablets is a painkiller that provides relief from mild to moderate pain (headache - including migraine, backache, toothache, muscle ache, neuralgia, joint pain, dysmenorrhea, sore throat)and for the relief of fever, aches and pains of colds and influenza.

  • What are the active ingredients in Solpa-Extra Soluble Tablets?

    The active substances are paracetamol and caffeine. Each tablet contains 500 mg paracetamol and 65 mg caffeine.

  • Who can use Solpa-Extra Soluble Tablets?

    Solpa-Extra Soluble Tablets can be used by adults and adolescents 12 years and above. Always take this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you.

  • How quickly does Solpa-Extra Soluble Tablets work?

    Solpa-Extra Soluble Tablets provide fast and effective pain relief from mild to moderate pain. Because it is soluble, it gets to work 2 times faster than standard paracetamol tablets.*

  • What side effects can occur with taking Solpa-Extra Soluble Tablets?

    Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects.

    Stop taking the medicine and tell your doctor immediately if you experience:
    - Allergic reactions which may be severe such as skin rash and itching sometimes with swelling of the mouth or face or shortness of breath
    - Skin rash or peeling, or mouth ulcers
    - Breathing problems
    - Unexplained bruising or bleeding
    - Nausea, sudden weight loss, loss of appetite and yellowing of the eyes and skin.
    - Cloudy urine

    Other side effects:
    - Nervousness and dizziness
    - In very rare cases decrease in the number of white blood cells (neutropenia and leucopenia) may occur.

  • Can I take Solpa-Extra Soluble Tablets if I'm pregnant or breastfeeding?

    Solpa-Extra Soluble Tablets should not be used if you are pregnant or breast-feeding because of the caffeine content.

  • Can I take Solpa-Extra Soluble Tablets if I'm taking other medicine(s)?

    It is important to check the ingredients of any medicines you buy with or without a prescription before taking them in combination with this medicine. Do not take this medicine with any other products that contain paracetamol. Please consult your doctor or pharmacist if you are on other medication before taking Solpa-Extra Soluble Tablets..

  • Who should avoid taking Solpa-Extra?

    Solpa-Extra Soluble Tablets are not recommended for children under 12 years of age.

    Do not take Solpa-Extra Soluble Tablets:
    - If you have ever had an allergic reaction to paracetamol, caffeine or to any of the other ingredients
    - If you are taking other medicines containing paracetamol
    - If you are a children under 12 years of age
    - If you are pregnant or breast-feeding
    Ask your doctor or pharmacist if you have any question.

  • What should I do if I've taken too many Solpa-Extra Soluble Tablets?

    You should never exceed the dose stated in the information leaflet supplied with this medicine. Immediate medical advice should be sought in the event of an overdose with this medicine, even if you feel well, because of the risk or delayed, serious liver damage.

    Always take this medicine exactly as described in the leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you.

  • When should I take a painkiller?

    If you experience pain from conditions like, headache including migraine (with and without aura), backache, toothache, muscle ache, neuralgia, joint pain, dysmenorrhea, sore throat, and for the relief of fever, aches and pains of colds and influenza, you may benefit from taking a painkiller. Solpa-Extra Soluble Tablets provide relief from mild to moderate pain.

    Always take this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you.

    Adults (including the elderly) and adolescents 16 years and over:
    Dissolve one to two tablets in at least half a tumbler of water every 4-6 hours.
    Elderly: It is recommended that frail or immobile patients should reduce the dose or frequency of dosing.
    Do not exceed 8 tablets in 24 hours.
    Adolescents 12-15 years of age:
    Dissolve one tablet in at least half a tumbler of water every 4-6 hours.
    Do not exceed 4 tablets in 24 hours.
    The tablet will take up to 2 minutes to dissolve.
    Children aged less than 12 years:
    Not suitable for children under 12 years of age.

  • Do I have to eat before/when I take Solpa-Extra Soluble Tablets?

    Solpa-Extra Soluble Tablets can be taken with or without food.
